A Prayer For The Greedy

Author: Richard “White Boy” White

Stuck in a corner, nowhere to run,
Now we must suffer, but you had your fun,
Hard pill to swallow, to death we’d follow,
Deep in my heart, there’s a heaven out there,
where I can be better and I don’t have to fear,
Lord, have mercy, lay down my burden,
Cause my end is near

Wish I could see, I feel I’m to blame
We’re on the wrong road, for some silly game
The world has its charms, so lay down your arms
I’d sail the oceans, I’d shed a tear
I’d climb a mountain, if someone would care
Lord, have mercy, lay down my burden
Cause my end is near

Crow in a cornfield, takes his pick,
Keeps on eating, till it makes him sick,
Take what you can, cause that’s the plan,
I cry out in the night, but no one hears,
I look in the mirror, as I pass the years,
Lord, have mercy, lay down my burden,
Cause my end is near.
